    Beautiful photos everyone, spectacular landscapes, and really nice portraits.
    @ proudgeek, I bought a 2nd hand Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8 with that same issue some time ago but couldn't return it. Used it for a year and sold it for about $175 less than what I paid for it. I'm a little more cautious now. Really like the symmetry and the B&W fits that photo perfectly.

    Something both different (than usually seen here) and ordinary: my bedroom.

    Processed this one a little different then usual. Driven by this place tons of times and never stopped. Made a point of it yesterday, but the colors of the building didn't show up like I wanted so I did this.

    @chrisflees: entering the stage with a bang - or was that a splash... Keep it up!
    @yetibuddah: I am always looking forward to your next picture. No disappointment today, that's for sure.
    @coastalconn: I had an uncle who was an ornithologist - a professional bird researcher. Most often, he did not get nearly as close as you do. We all know that you work with a 500mm lens, yet it appears you have a 2000mm cannon hidden somewhere. And in all that hectic, you still compose well. You are the master of the birds here, without a doubt! However, judging from the stern looks of this owl, I don't think he likes you that much ;-)

    Thanks postman and rx4, I just wish I could have gotten some nice autumn colours in the background as well, instead of a very grey sky.

    Yeti, lots of nice landscapes lately, that goes for rschnaible as well.

    Here's a random kid who showed up while I was shooting my daughter. He asked if I could take his picture so I did.

    @coastalconn, nice capture. I have a photo of a Great Horned Owl from last week, but never seem to be able to get them in good light like that.
    @chrisflees, nice waterfall. I like the composition of that one.
    @Yetibuddha, Great fall landscape.

    Appreciate everyone's comments.

    @Donald, Amazing bedroom! However, could you have possibly eliminated the shadow from the light fixture had you bounced the flash?

    @Rifqi, Interesting that a random kid asked for his picture. You nailed the lighting though.

    Coastalconn, I've had the opportunity to shoot osprey just south of you with nowhere near the results. I'm really loving these. Makes me want to invest 10 grand on a new lens.

    This was shot at a much shorter focal length, in Boulder, CO.
