Many great contributions...

My favorite capture from the ceremony. The other photographer looked at me weird when I way laying on the ground to take this. I feel it was worth the awkward moment.

Great day all.
This one is flat. Horrible lighting all day.
This one is really about defying the odds. Handheld 1/125th panning a swan at 500mm. Figured I had to try :)

graybegal: It is a very nice composition. If you want to make it a "standard" shot of yours consider seeing if you can shoot it with the swivel screen on the D5100 using a 50mm f1.8G. Then you wouldn't have to lay on the floor to do it.

@Pierre: that's one great still life...
I am not sure whether this bridge benefits from color or not. So I will have a B&W (today) and color shot (soon)

Haven't posted one in a bit...

Had to exposure +2.0 EV for this on matrix because the camera wanted to compensate for the light produced by the welding torch too much.

juergen, I never really gain weight, which earns me some dark looks from my wife. She keeps trying to fatten me up though.

Do you ever feel the more and more you look at a moment you've captured you start to think how you could have done it differently or maybe that you over-processed it...I think I over analyze my photos too much.
Anyhow, this is one of the images at the moment. My wife and I took another trip to Paris a couple of weekends ago (we only live 4-hrs away) and made it a photo trip primarily.

Darkhost, very nice.

@Darkhost: You really captured the evening mood of Paris (from Tour Montparnasse, I believe).
@msmoto: Composed to suit, or found "as is"? Either way, what a nice way of expressing the spirit of autumn.Posted 7 months ago # -
Greybagel, hopefully the other shooter took notice of the effort you went to get the shot. This was taken off the Embarcadero in SF. However, immediately after processing it I noticed how soft my new (used) 24-70 was at camera right. Immediately packed it up and sent it back to Nikon.

A slightly ridiculous shot, at 420mm with the old Zoom-Nikkor 50-300mm f/4.5 and a 1.4x teleconverter. The wing dam is about 2 miles away, and the far bridge is about 3.8 miles away. I'll try to post the wide angle landscape that this shot lives in tomorrow. The contrast in this was so low I had to use the almost-highest contrast filter available, but I really like the resulting look.
