I posted on here a few weeks ago about being given the opportunity to do a wedding, my first, and my concerns etc. Since then I've acquired a D800 and although I've had it just 1 week, I've quite quickly got to know the whereabouts of the sort of controls I was using on my D5100. Although I have ALOT to learn still, I am absolutely thrilled with it. In particular it's low light performance and the amazing full frame viewfinder. It goes without saying I'm sure, but I'm slill buzzing, having really enjoyed the whole experience. More to come I hope.
I have to thank my landscape skills for spotting the importance of the cloud when it appeared overhead.

Since everyone is throwing up mushrooms, I'll share one.
I was cleaning up the garden when I saw the mushroom, so I then ran into my air conditioned house because of course in Houston by 10am in the summer it's already 95F. Lens started to fog during the shot, but I thought it turned into a very interesting shot.

I've been on the road lately, although checking in here and there when I got the opportunity, and I must say that every month gets better and better and the bar is raised from every member who posts here. I have tons of photos to go through as well as finish my view on Photokina.

Loving some of these. MS Moto, you have an innate ability to capture Americana. Squamish, I really like your climbing photos. You do a tremendous job capturing the focus and intensity needed to be on the rock.
This was taken a block from home. Lake Champlain is a somewhat unique environment and the sky does something different here every night. This is a shot of a winter storm on its way in—36 hours later we were blanketed in three feet of snow.

Very nice catch, Captain!
Rifqi, how can you stay slim?Shopping center blues. Was not easy to get this one, the background was very bright. Did my best anyway...

@ proudgeek...thank you.
Here is one of the Post Office in Fairview, South Dakota, a town of 60 folks, and where virtually all the businesses have closed. The USPS is considering "the options" for this Post Office...obviously, some neglect is present....

Sorry about the blank post. Had a bit of a problem with an upload.
I have many images of Lake McDonald in Glacier under various conditions. Here is another, captured several years ago with my D200:

You're going to have to suffer through at least 3 days of this guy.

Back from Cape Cod... sadly not too much shooting outside of the dance camp itself. Here's a portrait from Brattleboro, VT. Backlit shot with heavy dodging of her face and body, and heavy burning of the dock and the water.

Overcast and rainy here today. No chance of a good photo? I set my ISO to 400 mounted my Tokina 100mm Macro and shot this outside my door.
D600, Tokina 100mm at f3.2, 1/160sec, ISO-400, -0.3 exposure compensation.

Ben, I think I can suffer (easily!) through a few more days of photos like these.
Donald, great practice, take a problem and turn it into and opportunity. And nice photo by the way.Posted 7 months ago # -
