    Another Bald Eagle taken earlier today. The head and tail are a little blown out, but I was very lucky to get this one as the eagle came out of the tress behind us and was almost in the water before anyone saw it.

    @kanuck - Fantastic!

    Had the pleasure of spending the morning capturing the guys getting ready for the wedding and snapped this portrait of the groom.

    Another day of great images...

    I had a kingfisher sort of cooperate this morning. Finally got one in flight with feather detail. I normally have a higher shutter speed but liked the motion blur in the wings on this one.

    The birds, the mushrooms, the trees. Just really professional... I also like the civilized discussion. In the last week, I have been the recipient of excellent feedback - some critical, some less so - and I am truly grateful to all of you. Since starting to post here, I have become a lot more critical about my own photography. I have many "almost good" shots, but few stunnners. I am now revisiting sites to repeat and improve.

    With two mushroom pictures already up in the last 48 hours, I make it a third.

    Nice photos al!
    A comment on the zebra in the trees. There are lots of photos where the unnatural placement of an object in a scene establishes tension and may cause the viewer to engage their imagination as to the back story or the purpose/message of the artist. If the photo is intended to bring forth the natural beauty of a scene, then the degree of authenticity is different than the case when a zebra outside its natural habitat (and perhaps with other props as well) is used to try and evoke something other than an appreciation for nature's wonders. It all comes down to artistic intent, which is closely linked to personal preference. In other words...Its all good.

    My photo for the day is an electric clam (really!) The blue in the picture actually travels around the clam like a moving neon light.

    Niceones on the birds cgilyeat and coastal. I like the mushroom shots. I will have to try and rummage around on my hard drive to find the one mushroom shot I have, and post it in a few days.
    Kanuck and Rx4, nice landscapes.
    Squamish, its good to see more rockclimbing photos.
    And msmoto, nice contrasting leaf!

    Fun Guy

    In light of all the good mushroom shots, I thought I'd post my own "fun guy." Sort of reminded me of the blades of a jet engine.

    Many great posts :)

    I was inspired by a recent PAD post of Hoover Dam and thought I would do one for my collection. A well photographed but always a majestic subject imho.

    @Msmoto: you captured the essence of fall...
    @Yetibuddah: ... and so did you
    @Kanuck: lovely and serene landscape

    My niece, with a sparkler.
    I recognize that there is noise in this picture. I needed the 1/1000s as she was swirling her hand around, and the sparkler was the sole light source. Consequently, I needed to jack the ISO up to 3200, and open my 50mm fully to f/1.4. Additionally, the picture is cropped to about the field of view of an 85mm lens.

    Could not single out any of the great shots on page 14. Almost feeling embarrassed to add mine.

    "Kids at play"

    This is called "kids at play". Shot this morning in a park in Kuala Lumpur.

    Btw. I am having big problems accessing my Flickr account, don't know if anyone else experiences issues.

    Another of my "snapshots" which I call Another Day in the USA This is taken with an old 28-85mm f/3.5-4.5 AF Nikkor which I found was sharper than a new lens I had purchased....and am returning.
