Expensive? Think of all that medium format film you'll save. The other cameras in that section of the market are as expensive, if not more so. Got to be the landscape camera of choice for those rich enough.

But think of it this way, I'd much rather get a D3x and use F-mount lenses than a S2. The D3x is a fraction of the price of the Leica S2, and obviously they're in different ballparks, but at least at $8000, it's at least semi attainable. Maybe a long shot for me, but at least I'm not buying a camera that's the same price as a well equipped Honda Civic Si.
