its called a "bait and switch".. can be very costly if you get screwed. I've read stories that if you are firm with them and make threats for legal action they will drop the fees and leave you alone, but its not worth it.

One of my favorite methods is typing in google the name of the business with s c a and start to spell out scam. usually comes write up, and you can read all about how others got screwed.

good luck! i used to be all about the lowest price but now I go for reputable dealers only with HIGH customer service standards. Sketchy online stores are a gamble every time.. be prepared to lose! there is a reason they charge less than everyone else, and its not because they treat you well.

But were do you get that Iphone, properly works better than the real one ;>)

Welcome to the forum, Gabriel. I had a buddy who against my advice bought a D60 from a shady US dealer (no link, Niko—you're welcome). It turned out to be...wait for it...too good to be true. When they called him trying to get him to add upgrades, he refused and they wouldn't send him the camera. Luckily, they did cancel the order without any "restocking fee" (which would have been ludicrous because I'm sure they never took it off the shelf).

No problem Gabriel. I'm not saying you did anything wrong. It's just that your new here and we often get "spammers" joining and disguising their "spam" as "hey guys check this really cheap deal on this website. You think this is a good deal?" etc, etc.

I'm not saying that was your intention but we just have to watch out for it, that's all :^)

Anyway Not sure where you're from but I'd recommend you use Amazon or some other "legit" retailer.

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Look at what I've found on another site:

A Nikkor 400mm2.8 for 3000 USD??? Even a used one could fetch a good deal more than that.

You can buy a cheap iphone from china too.

That's only for items purchased in the country they were intended to be sold in. Gray market items are imported from out of country by others and the don't have a Nikon warranty. If you want to get it serviced for whatever reason then you have to deal with the company you bought the item from. That's whatever warranty you bought from them not Nikon.

What they don't tell you is that the D5000 your buying doesn't have a battery or a proper warranty and they will try to sell them to you for additional $$$. If you don't want to buy the battery and warranty then they don't have it in stock.

I would stay away from questionable sites. I'd rather pay more for it at a reputable site than to be extremely annoyed that the camera doesn't come in the mail.
