If it's an image you take then no i don't think it's copyrighted. But since this seems to be for an online "review" or rather I assume that's what it's for it's best not to copy paste from a Nikon document.

That's true Niko, but if it's personal, who cares ? If it's not, he can still ask Nikon. If it's for a good purpose I'm sure they won't mind. I was never refused permission from the author and publisher of some article or illustration when I asked them, but of course it was not for something that would be commercialized, it was for our Wing's Newsletter…

I wonder if taking a picture of the camera screen is not breaking the copyrights as well. What do you think ?

But don't forget about copyright! You can't use Nikon's illustrations without permission for your review!

Daniel, why don't you download the PDF manual for your camera from the Nikon web site, and take screen shots while it is displayed on your monitor. I just tried that to make sure I would not tell lies, and it works. I downloaded the D300 manual and, being on a Mac, I just selected the picture of some of the menus (cmd+shift+4) to take the shots. If you're on a PC, I'm sure you have an equivalent. :o)

Welcome to the forum, Daniel. I'm interested in knowing this, too, but I've never taken a screenshot. Maybe someone else knows.

What camera do you have? That would probably be helpful. If you have a video capture card on your computer with an RCA in, you could probably just connect the camera through that and capture it that way. You could also try USB and one of these apps if you have a D300.
