What's going on? Three hours after I submitted my last post noting the Amazon deal and whining about their price increase on the 70-300mm telezoom, they have DECREASED the lens price to $507 and change. A drop of about $37.

But why?

The Amazon deals (for both the D300s and the D700), when bought WITH the 70-300mm lens gives you $200 off and that is good through 28 Nov. The same deal through Adorama is good through 21 Nov. I haven't checked BH, so don't know about them at all.

I'm seriously thinking about the D700 deal but will hold off until 28 Nov to see if there is anything else.

Of course, knowing my luck, I will buy the deal on 28 Nov, and then on 1 DEC, there will be an absolutely amazing deal offered for the rest of December....

Oh, btw, I just checked Amazon a few minutes ago and see that they had raised the price on the lens by about $25; though they are doing their thing of jockeying the prices around. (I still don't understand why they do that?)

I hope this is not it. The D700 bundled with 70-300 for $200 savings. 18-105 savings with D90. I bought the 70-300 VR (my worst lens) and already own the 16-85.

And the D90 body only is $794, which is also pretty cool. They have $200 off a 70-300 if you buy a body too. Not a bad deal.

Amazon.com has the D90 with 18-105 for $1032! Free shipping. Now that's an awesome deal!
