As I said in the other 'screen protector' thread, plus one for Giottos. I would never want my cameras to be without them, to such an extent that I have spares. In my experience, great products are always discontinued!

Interesting topic. Yes Giottos is supposed to be the best and I have had one on my Leica M9 since day one. It was weird but, when I opened the box of my D800e it already had a Nikon BM-12 protector on it! I guess it was inspected by Nikon Korea as it was the first body to arrive in the country back in April this year. The Nikon BM-12s are solid aragdog, but if you decide on the Giottos you won't be sorry :)

I wish they made this stuff for cameras!

No pliable film is going to prevent breakage of glass. The iPhone 4S has Corning Gorilla Glass or at least something similar. All that film is doing is preventing the mug, hammer or brick from scratching the glass. If he were to put some force that phone would be history.

I hope you are not "mugging" your DSLR or throwing bricks at it. Other than that I cannot image why you would need something like that on a camera. :-)

Later,
Jeff

I just got the GGS III for D800/D800E. It uses a black ABS frame similar in size to the MB-12 (I think that is the one that comes with the D800). The top uses the adhesive like previous GGS kits. I like it. I can remove it if I want/need.

Search "GGS III" on Amazon and look for the pictures of it.

@Tao:

I had a coated anti-glare protector on my D90 which was way better than the standard one, but it did not like a greasy nose up against it. It only looked pristine for about two minutes. The non-coated one I had on my D5000 was much better. Something to bear in mind.

Yes - ACMAXX (ebay) & Zagg is another one. I found one that was actually bullet proof (impact resistant) but lost the link. If I find it I will post it.

I have the ACMAXX on my X100 (which goes with me everywhere) and it has held up way beyond my expectations.

Has anyone used Lexerd brand protectors. They say they are anti-glare. Curious how well that works.
