D800 Nikon, it is great!!!

Yes, I totally agreed with you. I quit Canon because I found Nikon is more superior. In fact I sold off my 20D several years ago.
I don't bother to upgrade D300 or even D300s because I want to get a budget super value full frame. However D700 lacks of many important features. I can't turn back to Canon to get the super value & super excellent 5D MK II since I had invested so much on those lenses!

This is reason why I put so much hope on this replacement model. So happen I have some "N" insider information about this replacement model. In fact my friends' friends who is a design engineer for "N" in Japan. I heard that they already have several working units in their labs. Sorry I could not disclose more.

So which do you like more the 20D or the D200? ;^) I've been a canon user and Nikon user and Pentax and Sony and Fuji and well you get the point. None of them come close to Nikon in my opinion.

As I told before on this forum that I don't work Nikon. And I'm not a Canon user just want to make funs of Nikonian. Well I have both Canon 20D and Nikon D200 SLR. Yes, of course I know those old links. But my point is that some information in the old link might happen to the new D800. I'm not a pro but just for hobby.

Well then that's one major coincidence that you happen to join here and make make a list of specs for a future camera and then the next day those exact specs word for word show up on another website. You even linked to that website the day you started all of this!

I'm sorry alan but I find it really hard to believe you when all you do is keep linking to very old information. Did you not know about the D700s/x/800 rumors before? It seems like perhaps your source simply told you what has already been floating around even before the D700/ D3X were announced. Do you have a background in photography? What I mean is are you a photographer? Whether you do it as a hobby or professionally.

No I have never email to anyone about D800, all my information exclusively in this forum.

Well you have the right not to agree with me about the technical spec I posted in this forum. As I said those technical spec. are just speculation or you can call it rumor if you like from some sources which I know.

Just some tips, it is very unlikely there will be D400 or "cheap Nikon FX SLR". This is definitely not true at all which I have never heard it from my friends' friend.

Well if you don't want anyone to ask then why do you keep posting specs? I'm not asking you to reveal which of your friend's uncles told you but I just want to understand that what your posting is legit info from a legit source and not a best guess or wish list.

I'd already heard a Feb 2010 announcement could happen for a D400,"cheap" full frame or a D800, supposedly maybe. I'm not trying to put you in a police line up. I want to believe you.

Again, please don't ask me if the technical specs that I mentioned are true or not. Please don't ask where I got that information. As I said, you don't have to trust 100% what I said in this forum. Just wait for Nikon's official announcement for the D700 replacement model.

NikoDoby, Nikon still has not finalized this feature. Like Pete said, it could be 5fps like in the current D700 or may be it could be 7fps like what I heard from speculation.
Anyway, my prediction for the new D700 replacement model as below:

- Model Name: D800 (no D700s or D700x)

- Estimated Price: USD 2,500.00 (only body)

- Body material: Magnesium alloy (usual material for high-end SLR), 150,0000 life cycle

- Sensor: 36 x 23.9 mm CMOS sensor (FX) 24.5 million effective pixels

- Image processor: Nikon EXPEED II (next generation EXPEED engine)

- Auto Focus: 51 focus points (15 cross-type sensors) , Multi-CAM 3500FX

- Metering: TTL full-aperture exposure metering using 1005-pixel RGB sensor

- LCD monitor: 3.0 " TFT LCD

- Dual Card Slot: CF & SD (similar to D300s)

- Continuous Shooting: 7fps (8 fps with battery grip, similar to D300s)

- Viewfinder: 98% Frame coverage (slighly improved from 95% in D700)

So alan, are you saying the Nikon "D800" specs are not concrete? Are you just saying it could have a fps of 5,6 or 7 but your source didn't confirm the fps?

Yes Pete.
There is possibility that Nikon will reduce the continuous shooting like 5fps as you mentioned.
However, this is a "critical spec." which mean Nikon needs to consider very deeply the right spec that can promote this new model. For 5fps, 6fps or 7pfs without battery grip are all possible number!

I am starting to get left out Niko, You keep showing us all these new cameras of yours, OK you have yet to show us your Mickey Mouse camera, but just get it over with and show us a Group shot of your complete gear, incl that new pinky

I don't think launching 5 or 6 new models in a year is the problem for Nikon because they have a great engineering team & marketing team. I guess the biggest challenge for Nikon is to come out the replacement model for D700 is the technical spec. Bottom line this technical spec must at least perform better or above its rival Canon 5D MkII which has stolen a great market share for budgeted full frame SLR for last one year. Nikon will not just sit and see their market share for budgeted full frame SLR being eaten away by Canon each day. Definitely Nikon will have a very significant enhancement on the current D700 like have better resolution like 24.5 MP, better continuous shooting like 6 or 7 fps without battery grip, Dual Card Slot for CF & SD, more powerful new generation of “EXPEED” image processor that will improve the digital noise at higher ISO, improved viewfinder (may be 97 or 98%) and of course the HD video mode (most probably is 1080p, 24 or 30fps AVI video recording), just to name a few.

Forget the fact that it's hot pink, the color looks like it was just painted on.

In fact, the plastic looks as like it's as low quality as the Canon XSi. :D

The D3s is a low light fast frame rate camera. The D700 is a less expensive low light camera. The D3x is a high resolution camera. The D800 or what ever will probably be a less expensive high resolution camera. With these four cameras most everybody should be happy for awhile.
