the key phrase in the Ritz contract is "repair or replace". You might as well ask for a D3, why settle for a D90. They'll throw in a pro printer and some lighting and 3 months rent free in a studio of your choice.

I have had a refurb replacement, it came direct from Nikon and has been 100% dependable. I could not tell if it were a new never been touched camera. My wife has also had a couple of sensor cleanings that would have ended up more costly than the price of the warranty.

careful with the extended service policy, they generally replace the camera but it must be
destroyed to even be considered for replacement.
as for replacement, they usually dig up a refurb'd somewhere plus the amount of hassle
is not worth it (to me) figure about 6-8weeks if you are lucky...

So are you planning to "accidentally" break or "accidentally" run over your camera?

I bought a D80 a few years back with the Extended Coverage Service plan (or whatever they call it)from Ritz Camera and its going to expire in the next 4 months. The sales guys claimed that if my camera were to "accidentally" break or "accidentally" be ran over by a car or whatever would be a total loss.....they would simply replace it rather than attempt to fix it.

Im hoping this means a D90 as a replacement for my old D80... wadya think? anyone had a similar situation to this? Or am i just gonna screw myself and get a refurbished or duct taped D80 back??

Youre thoughts and suggestions please :)
