While editing software is a personal option and to some degree even a trendy option, when shooting with Nikon NEF Raw there has to be one editing software package that is a cut above the rest, right?
I have thrashed all of the top of the range editing software out there, NX2, Lr4, Ps6 and all of the Nik software packages I have concluded that they all offer something the rest don't have, i.e. Ps6 has photo stitching, Lr4, has great cataloguing and key words and NX2's control points with the other Nikon products View NX2, Nikon Transfer and so on and so on.
I have made close comparisons with all of the noise controls on each of the above software and I have compared the sensitivity of the sliders on them all as well, that is the difference each click on the slider makes when making an adjustment.
After going around and around them all time and time again I always come back to the Nikon system with Capture NX2 as offering the most complete package. I am the first admit that Capture NX2 could do with a bit of a make over but in my mind it still shines as the best over all editing software for those shooting NEF.
