I use Pixelmator heavily, and there's a lot that photoshop can do that Pixelmator can't yet, things like auto-aligning multiple sequential images so you can do stacked manipulations of handheld shots like they were done on a tripod. Pixelmator is, however, improving at a very rapid pace, the change over the last year is huge. Curves and color manipulating tools in Pixelmator are excellent, and it is very fast.

Pixelmator does come with a few automator scripts, for resizing, changing image type, and applying core image effects such as unsharp masks, etc. I've used this on very odd occasion with folders of images, but haven't made any automator tasks with Aperture.

So I recently purchased Pixelmator for around $40. I was curious if:
1. Do any of you use it
2. How does it compare to Photoshop in terms of functionality: Clearly Photoshop does a good bit more, but most of the extra functionality seems to be related to graphic design, not photo retouching.
3. I'm really looking for a Mac replacement for Corel Paint Shop Pro (formerly Jasc Paint Shop Pro). Is this the best option? I liked PSP becuase I could create scripts to batch process a lot of images. I know I can do this with Automator, but I don't have it quite figured out yet. I also have Aperture. Is there a good resource you know of to learn how to do this?
