Ironically in my state hunters spend more money protecting habitat and wild game than environmentalist do....

You'r absolutely right, my local farmer also invest much more in chicken, and pigs than any environmentalist, you surely got a point. If it was not for them, these two species and a few others would be extinct by now...

Talking about irony, one that would invest in children welfare charity would most likely endup feeding them meat.

A few years ago, Canon had advertisements on PBS showing a hawk and talking about "leaving nature as you found it."

Wow, so no one knows of a charitable dealer? Does anyone know what it takes to become a dealer?

Funny you should say that, as Nikon makes scopes for rifles and other sporting optics.

OK, OK, but they do make the "other sporting optics" such as incredible binoculars to better see the birds, spotting scopes to see the ones the regular binoculers(sic) cannot, and also the really high price scopes so we can see the man on the moon. The $3000 one...

But the irony is "priceless" way to go NSXType-R

Your best bet might be to buy your equipment locally and just ask the store owner. I buy about half of my equipment locally at a family own store and that at least keeps the money in the community and they support a number of local photo related events. The rest of course comes from B&H due to price or availability.

So I am open to ordering my next Nikon (D800e, fyi) from a local dealer but I would like to know that some of my money is going towards doing some good in the world, especially in the form of animal welfare. Are there any stores that donate a portion of sales to the SPCA, PETA, Humane Society, etc?
