There are no AF settings, the camera shutter cannot be locked out (focus priority does not work) when using manual focus lenses.

I thought so. Thanks for the confirmation.

On a side note, does AF confirmation still work?

Yes, I do get the focus indicator and I can select an AF point. But I did not find a way to make focus priority work (only shoot an image if the selected AF point is in focus). Camera is a D700.

I don't think there is a setting for the camera for manual lenses. For the most part, if there are no contacts and if it can't detect AI-S lenses, it probably thinks there's no lens on it anyway.

On a side note, does AF confirmation still work?

Until short time ago I was only using manual AI-S lenses on my camera, so I have set the AF mode selector on the camera to M.

But lately I got a few AF-D and AF-S lenses as well and now I sometimes forget to set it back to M. I did not find anything in the manual that specifically says that for using manual lenses I have to set it back to M and I can't see any problems so far. But I would like to know if anyone here has run into a problem (e.g. damaging the camera) by using manual lenses with the AF selector set to anything else but M.

As a side note: I do know that the manual lenses will not automatically focus if the selector is set to S or C... :)
