If your camera was made in England, than it would quit working every time the weather turned bad, and you'd have to stand in a queue every time you wanted to change a setting.

HEY, steady on! :-) And if they were made in the US, they'd have the stars and stripes painted on every item, and they'd come bundled with a .357 magnum! hehe. My son has a poster on the wall of his bedroom saying "Proudly ambitious but rubbish since 1995" (his birth date), kind of sums up most things in the UK :-)

I wouldn't worry too much where your Nikons are made. The quality control will be the same.

I have two Nikon AF 35-70mm consumer-grade (ie cheap) lenses. One made in Japan, one in Thailand. Their performance is identically poor!

American-made Nikkors would have a 3" filter thread.

Nikon usually makes their best equipment in Japan. The more consumer oriented items are manufactured in Thailand or China. My D90 was manufactured in Thailand and it is excellent. Only the D4 & D700\800 are manufactured in Japan (not sure about the D300). If your camera was made in England, than it would quit working every time the weather turned bad, and you'd have to stand in a queue every time you wanted to change a setting.

I have found a D7000 thats in stock in a store, but by the end of the week the sales man told me that he will receive his order of a few more D7000. Is there a reason why i might prefer the older model (the one in stock) compared to the new arrivals? I was told that the new arrivals would be made in Thailand. Now is that a good thing to be built in Thailand or not? Maybe the older one (one in stock) due to the fact that its older then it might not be manufactured in Thailand but in England.
You think im right?
