I feel bad for a lot of people. I didn't realize how out of stock my camera was. I was lucky enough to get it a few days before launch from Best Buy and have been shooting it ever since.

Have you guys thought about buying used? I know mine will be up on there once I figure out what the D400 is.

D7000 are coming into the USA

I got a call today from the retail location that I had placed my Nikon D7000 order with. They received product from Nikon today, the camera body and 3 lens I ordered are going out today.

I thought I would give folks the heads up.... I had my order in for a bit over 4 weeks. I had gone onto an email notification list for several other reputable online retailers and did not get any notifiication that they had any units. No doubt they are all taking care of back orders. If you have not placed an order with a credit card and told you are on BO you may not move up in the "cue" to secure a unit as it appears that the BO are taking a lot of the inventory that is coming in.....

You did well get get a response! All I could get was "we won't speculate". I sent a letter to the Noboyoshi Gokyu President of Nikon USA (Feb 17 2012) and noted that "no response" was not very helpful. We all understand the supply disruption and are only seeking "some guidance". I hope my letter (and no doubt others) helped get them to speak to us based on your call!

I have had a D7000 and 3 lens on order now for 3 weeks. The folks at Calumet were very responsive and noted they thought it may be as long as 5-7 weeks. Under promise, over deliver no doubt. I did appreciate some insights from their folks.

I have looked over the last SEC filings and they do note they plan on selling more dslr camera's this year than in the previous year, even with the supply disruption.

I keep scanning the retail situation but no units are hitting the shelf yet.... Let's keep our fingers crossed for your time horizon!

Thanks for sharing!

Andy:
Thanks for the post. I guess I'll just have to see what happens in 3 weeks. Nikon person was pretty adamant about the D7000 being available in March.

D7000, well I ordered one from Ritz in Mid January 2012, and it became available in early Feb, was shipped and I received it on Feb 14th, 2012. So they are shipping and availability should not be an issued once all back orders are filled.
