and the SAL stands for Sony Alpha Lens.

On the photorumors site and with any Google searching it shows up as just being a Sony lens. Not surprising, doesn't look like a Nikkor with the red mounting dot.

Its a sony lens.

It has a red dot at the end of the barrel, a sony rear lens cap and the lens above also have sony rear lens caps.

A very interesting Nikon 500mm lens was on display at CES. Does anyone know what it is and if it is a production lens?
