Of course he is! Shoot I'd be promoting my "Niko Doby Uncensored Videos" there too if Kelby would ever return my phone calls and invite me to the show!!!

You think those guys are there out of the goodness of their hearts? The whole program is just an infomercial for Kelby products disguised as a photography show.

I still think my idea for a Jerry Springer like show on photography. It would be awesome! :^)
http://nikonrumors.com/forum/topic.php?id=1348#post-23804

*On Today's show we'll meet a wedding photographer who showed up uninvited and made out with the bride...and then the bridesmaids...and then the bride's sister...and then the bride's mom...AND even with the church organist! But hold on! Get this...THAT was just at the rehearsal! Please welcome, Poster to the show!*

I think NikoDoby has a newer thread, I just couldn't find it.

Merge the two maybe?

Watched the latest one, the set does not impress me at all!

Wobbly tables, sounds from off camera, etc.

But the information is great. They introduced a Canon camera this time (without model number etc.) and interviewed Chase Jarvis.

In a way, I like what he says, but I also feel as if it's also promoting himself with his book.

I don't think the show is JUST on a hiatus. It's actually been canceled :^( They're suppose to launch a totally new show but they haven't announced what it will be. The show was never really officially sponsored by Nikon(maybe just one or two shows but not the whole series). You won't find any Nikon logos on the website at all. I think Nikon should have embraced the series more.

I think the new show will focus on digital photography in general and not just on Nikon cameras and lenses. So it'll have a new name and new website to go with a wider audience. Imagine Olympus,Sony, and Pentax bring along new cameras to showcase on the show. Like a video version of dpreview.

I just hope they don't announce canon as the main official sponsor and call it c-town.

@monty11 Sorry for the rude comment on the other thread. I may be a bit sensitive since I'm asking "dumb" questions all the time. Just got my first dslr a few weeks ago...

I like them. There are some hints I had no idea about, and some things that are basic, but they're things that I just glossed over when I first got my camera. Now I can kinda catch up on all the things my camera can do.

@warprints, I guess that must have been it. I remember there being one about digiscoping. I was sweeping the Nikon sites when I translated the D300/D3 ads and found them there ... must have been roughly 2 years ago.

By the way, if you're an ITunes user, I think you can automatically download them as a podcast.

Monty, you may be thinking of the videos that Nikon sponsored several years ago. The DTown videos are just new this year. They are weekly, and there really was no break until this past week - they're taking a month off. The video sessions usually run from pretty basic to tips I didn't know about. Worthwhile to watch when you have a little down time.

I think I watched it ages ago but they sort of stopped updating it for quite a long time and I haven't checked back to it lately. I think the address was also different 2 years ago. Though the ones that were posted then were quite good.

Simple enough, anyone watch it?

I've learned a lot from it actually.

They're a bunch of videos hosted by Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowsky and they're pretty much tips and tricks to photography with Nikon gear.

Nikon Rumors had posted about it in the past, but there hasn't been a forum topic about it.

Here's the link, for those who have been living under a rock. :D

nikondtown.com

It's great for the photography newbs, and it answers a lot about just everything in general. The show is on hiatus for now, but it'll be back in about 3 weeks.

And by the way, it's nice that Nikon looks out for us, unlike Canon. As far as I know, they don't have anything free like this. :D
