for me there's no need to use micro sd - they are more expensive, much slower than the cheapest sd cards

True, but I just wondered how they performed especially since others like me might have them laying around or they could be used in multiple devices such as the phone and camera. I have seen some recently that are fairly cheap, but then again I think there was an 8GB class 6+ card now for under $30.

I have a couple with SD adapters and they are terribly slow and can't keep up with the buffer on an old D50. Not worth as an option IMO.

Class of a card depends on the format in my experience. Class (x) is not the same speed on a SD, CF or Micro Sd cards. Most of the "class" refer to "read" times and not "write" times.

Good question. I've been looking at purchasing a couple as well for my D7000, the prices starting to look attractive, but have yet to do the jump for this exact same reason.

I have:

1x8gb class 6 sd card
1x4gb class 6 sd card
2x2gb Micro sd with sd adapters

All Sandisk.

Sometimes I don't have enough time between tournaments to empty out the class 6 cards, and for the tail end of the game I end up using the micro sd card with adapter. I haven't seen any bottlenecks or failures, i sometimes use 3 burst continuous mode. Works fine, even when shooting RAW.

Yes I would think so too tcole1983, also I'm thinking the speed rating of the card will not be anywhere near as fast as a good full size variety?

Does anyone use these? I have one sitting around from our old cell phones with the adapter. I just wondered how they would work. Seems to me the more things that the card has to actually go through the more likely a problem is to occur.
