			<description><p>This sounds like what my 300mm f/4 AF-S was doing. I cleaned the contacts and tried it on all my cameras and it still did it. So I sent it to Nikon and they replaced the AF-S motor because it was going bad. Got it back and it works perfect now.

			<description><p>If you have plenty of light in your studio, and your not trying to focus too close (that lens does not have the best macro), then you may want to send it to Nikon to have it looked over.
