LOL - That's very funny.

In light of the current flooding in Thailand, I suppose all plans are off except for the high-end gear, which come from the now (I presume) mostly recovered Sendai plant?

My Nikon rep told me your Nikon rep is full of *@!@ and just wants to work you for a comission so he'll tell you anything. He said you shouldn't be so gullible. The v1/j1 are no where near replacing the D3100. The price is much too high for that. My Nikon rep also told me the D7200 will be an upgrade to the D7100 with much better specs. I believe him so I'm going to wait for the D7200 and I think you guys should too. On the other hand my Canon rep told me the D7200 is going to suck and that I should wait for the 80D instead. I am so confused now that I think I'll start a new topic post because I'm incapable of making my own decisions.

A while back, I was told by our Nikon rep that we should see a change in the low end SLR line up (remember my post about this a few months back in the lead up to the V1/J1?) from Nikon in a few months. He was, as it turned out, hyping the V1/J1 as a replacement for the D3100 end of the dSLR market and it seems he was seeing how we would react to it.

He also mentioned that we would see the Dx100 numbering be the way of 2012 for dSLR models, (as in D3100, D5100, D7100 etc) be what Nikon was likely to do. This is hardly earth shattering, as product refreshes are always on the way from major corporations and we are also 66% of the way there already with the 3100 and 5100. This must be something going to happen eventually, especially considering the shorter product refresh times in the market now when compared to a few years ago.

Now we see another typo rumor (it's not the first), on the main blog pages that mentions a "D7100".

Putting the recent floods in Thailand to one side, and the desire for a top-end product update, I wonder what kind of specification and new features that such a model (D7100) body that would arrive in 2012 might have?
