I prefer the DX format personally. My days of larger formats seems over. CX though does not appeal to me having seen them in action.
And the images are OK.....but I simply would not invest in one. Maybe OK for Goldilocks.

I'll have to say that it's hard to draw conclusions about the lenses, since we haven't yet seen them, and we don't know the full extent of their performance.

I will say that the proposed Nikon lines look like they compromise too much without adding any compelling features. If they were the first to the mirrorless game, things would be different, since they would not have anything to compare their products to, but with m4/3 and the NEX system out, it will be difficult for Nikon to be competitive. Already, they are starting off at a much higher price than their larger sensor competitors, and only if the lenses are really small (compact camera size when attached on a body) can there be any hope of competing with them.

Well, we shall have to see when they get announced.

Caught that in one of the other threads. I don't keep too much track until something with solid footing comes out - that could have been a very, very early number from a long time ago.

Who said anything about a 5X crop? 2.7X is the unofficial official crop.

Have you heard what the final Crop factor will be? By the looks of the lenses I would say it may be a 2.5-3x factor rather than the 4.7x we have heard about. It would seem odd that every lens would begin at 47mm equiv.

All of them are too slow to be useful for me.

I think we need to make a camera up for each series to send people after-
D3500, D150, P9600, go for the 19-145mm vr lens. Any other suggestions?

I've never understood this concept that Lumix and Olympus went with but obviously there's a market for it.

How will these CX lenses compare to DX and FX glass? Which lens series should Goldilocks buy?

Can't tell how CX compares until we see samples, but my guess would be small and compact, with no better than DX quality.

Buy FX if you are serious or DX if you can't afford FX.

Leave CX for this round of product releases to see if it survives.

NikoDoby said:
How will we explain three different crops and two lens mounts to newbies?

Over a long, cold drink.

Want some dinner Goldilocks? How about coming back to my apartment after, I'll show you my portfolio? :-)
