well done, I agree with you, now sell the lens that you have, you can PM me or any of the other members and we will spread it around for you.

just let us know what you have, no sense leaving those lenses lying around for the next "two years", they might get fungus, lubrication may leak onto the aperture blades, etc.

sell everything, get a smart phone while you are wating, imagine being to access nikonrumors anywhere anytime, and still be able to take pictures.

D700, old tech anyway, especally with the new NIKON D4 here.

Nikon can announce it tomorrow which is rumored but before you get your hands on the FIRST batch you'd have to be the first one to order it or pay 1 or 2 thousand more for a resell on ebay. But the announcement to shipping date is usually 1 to 2 months. Maybe longer. the demand is extremely high. I waited 8 months for my 85mm 1.4. I wouldn't imagine it being the same with the D4 in some cases. The D3s is still temp out of stock in most retailers and that has been almost 2 years.

Announcement to availability can take anywhere from a few weeks (unlikely) to months or more. If you are not among the first to pre-order, it could be a year or more, depending on demand and production amounts, especially since NPS customers will probably be served first.

And then, there's the issue of when they're actually going to announce the D4, which could be as soon as this week, or could be much later.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a camera from the very first batch any way.

What D4?

Hi, I just sold my d700 in order to upgrade to d4. Usually how long do you guys think it will take for nikon to have the d4 in stock for us consumers. I realize they let the nps members have first dibs. What do you guys think the pricing will be also? I guess around 5500.
