I would love the voice memos for notes of people's and place names.
GPS logging built in would be great as well.
I love the star or color rating. It would make it easier to pre categorize items.

Cards - CF - they are still much faster than SD and I have yet to have one fail. I have had many SD cards fail.

It is mainly used for photojournalism and sports. For me it is not practical to write down stuff. I can record rider requests, in game notes, and just things to look out for which is miles better than a pad or fumbling with the menus in my phone and it stays with the shots...

I think I'd rather have wifi for file transfer (for after, not during shooting) than voice notes. I just don't see the point of having voice notes. I had that feature on one camera, never used it.

I would really like to see more programmable buttons and voice notes on the lower bodies.

Voice Notes would be so great on lower bodies (if they bothered to do it) I've been using the video option to record soundbytes (clunky and a lot of searching)

It doesn't happen often but I actually agree with casperwb. Although all of those things would be neat - I don't thing I would ever say Nikon missed the boat if none of those things were included in this or the next couple of releases.

-USB - never used it and I don't know why my camera has one.
-Integrated WiFi - not fast enough yet (Burst 10 raw files at 150-250mb+ transfer would just bog a camera down and eat batteries) A better, self powered add on would be nice.
-Articulated LCD - I would just break it and rarely find any need for one. If you need one for video, get an external monitor- they are much better.
-Video stuff - I don't do video but I think 120 would be more useful and keep the camera relevant for 4 years.

-Radio TTL- that could be huge (and I would love it) but we would have to see a camera and flash release. With as good as the 3rd party ones are, and that you can use them on lighting other than speed lights, I don't see anyone wanting to wast company money for it. It would also add a lot of size to flashes and an antenna to a camera body.

I would really like to see more programmable buttons and voice notes on the lower bodies.

On that Note I would love 2 Cf slots and a Sdxc slot (like they would put 3 slots in the camera). The Sdxc for video and the CF for stills

I never ever thought about a star rating system in camera, that's a great idea but I think that 3rd party software (Lightroom, Aperature, etc) would have to support it which could get complicated..

I just *assumed* we're going to get Dual CF or Dual SDHC slots so I didn't include that in my list of the things they won't have that I want... If the D7000 got dual cards, how could that not be in the D800/D4??!?!?

^^Great post *Yawn* is such a thought out add on........................ T_T

as for 60fps, it depends on the filming you're doing. True you don't use it all the time, but when you want it, you REALLY want it haha. I guess in camera metering for video/audio would be really nice. I'm not very deep into the video area, but that's more of what I'm interested in, so down the road once I'm more familiar I know it's something that will help me. I know Philip Bloom counts that as the 1 big thing he wishes was on the D7000 for video use & refuses to review it based on that. He still uses it for stills & timelapses though.

Do people want Dual CF slots or SDHC/sx slots?

I for one would break an articulated screen if my body had one...

Definitely want to see the wi-fi but I assume that they may add that based on demand they are getting for it. The video issue isn't crippling (canuts overplay the ONE problem of nikon still cameras) as much as it is useful for some(it doesn't really put nikon out of the game). It is merely a minor fix as most videographers don't use 60fps (like most still shooters don't need 21mpx). I would still like to see it though.

What I want to see that they probably wont put on the D4 is Number and word recognition that is stored in the metadata (akin to face recognition). I'd also like to the option to rate images in the camera using stars so I could start on site instead of doing it in view nx, bridge, or lightroom afterward...

The video option I want to see is seamless direct to computer (video software would be a bonus) recording (tethered). That would sell me on video...

I don't know if there is a thread as specific as this but this is a new twist I don't think the previous thread has...

I agree with the 720/60fps & better compression scheme. I know there will be people that will holler that they don't want it or who cares, well guess what, a lot of people care on both Nikon & Canon sides so get over it. We know you hate video, but it's not going anywhere. Ignore it if you don't like it, but it'll only become more prominent. *Big breath* haha, now that that's out of the way....

Nikon really needs to get its head in the game when it comes to video. You'd think they would have, but they seem to be lagging, but I guess it's to be expected seeing as how canon already had a respected video department to lend a hand. 720/60fps is a must. You'd think the D7000 would have it or at least a firmware update for it. It's probably asking to much at the moment out of HD-DSLRs but 1080/60fps & 720/120 fps would be killer.

The compression thing is important too. These cameras take amazing images, but the compression schemes they use in HD-DSLRs really impacts the image in a negative way. I'd like to see that worked on so that people can enjoy these great images they produce.

Ariculated screen is 50/50 some want it, some don't care. Wouldn't think you'd see it on pro bodies as they're designed with the idea of being more rugged. But I think they'll be in more pro-sumer & consumer bodies. USB 3.0 would be nice

I was thinking today of what is most likely to be included in the D800/D4 release that is expected later this month which also brought me to what I don't think will be included that I would really like to see...

- Integrated WiFi
I wouldn't be surprised to see this on the D4, not likely on the D800 but if I had to guess it won't be included in either. That's a shame as moving images directly out of the camera and onto a 3rd party storage device, be it an iPad, computer, etc would be a very nice addition.

- USB 3.0
This may make the cut, but I've not heard much on this spec. As MP counts grow as well as shooting in 14-bit RAW, files sizes baloon and it would be nice to have transfer rates in the camera support the faster spec; especially since the next upgrade for these cams won't likely come for 2-3 years.

- Articulated LCD
Not a deal breaker, but a nice feature that I really wish would find it's way on more cameras. They got it right with the 5100 and Canon with the 60D. This should be on the D800 at the least. Pro's may not care.

- 720p/60fps
This should be included in the next video release

- AVCHD low compression scheme
Nikon ought to really try and overjump the Canon folks here and allow a higher bit rate encoding to their AVCHD compression algorithms. I'd like to see really high quality video come out of these new cams.

- Built in radio transmitter that can process TTL signals.
Nikon would make a fortune if they could get out of the optical triggering and into the radio triggering with TTL signals passing through. At the very least, if this isn't included in the release, come up with an addon. Pocketwizzard evidently hasn't been able to get this quite right just yet.

My two cents.. what do you think?
