for macro work ,you do not really need auto anything, so for value for money look at old second hand Nikkor Micro lens. I use a 30 year old 55mm f 2.8. The bees knees in Macro is the Nikon Micro-Nikkor 200 mm - F/4.0

for Wildlife the "trick" is to get close, rather than use a long lens, so do, at least, consider a hide, rather than a lens

A friend has a Sigma 150-500, his results are rubbish, but that may be him ,rather than the lens

Most profession wild life photographs seem to use 300; 400 or 600 primes the two former often used with 1.5 or 1.7 teleconverters

I use a Nikon 70 -200 f 2.8 with a x 2 converter, not ideal, but I already had the 70 -200 for portraiture

some / all of this has been discussed before, so beware of the terminator

Hi I have just started into photography and love it. I have a D5000 with a 35mm DX, a 18-55 DX VR, and a 55-200 DX VR. I am looking into getting my next lens and wanted some opinions. I am looking into two options because I have found that I love macro photography and wildlife photography.

First the macro lens. I have been looking at the nikon 105 macro and the 85 dx macro. I was also told that the tamron 60mm is a great one. Which one do you suggest and why?

Second the wildlife. I have been able to get good photos of the wildlife I have found but I have found I don't have the reach that I need sometimes. I have read that the 150-500 sigma is a great lens for the price. If you have any other suggestions that would be great.
