Generally speaking, megapixels are one of the last things you should consider when picking a camera, unless you're a mad cropper or billboard printer.

There are tons of threads about picking cameras on this forum that will help you isolate what's important to you as a photographer and how camera attributes will augment your shooting style.

I'm not sure many of us can comment intelligently on the Cannon, either, since most of us are Nikon shooters. Picking a camp has more to do with available glass and ergonomics these days.

My advice would be to go to a store, hold both and see what suits you better.

Should I get a Canon Rebel T3i/ Nikon 5100 ???

Canon T3i has higher megapixel(18MP) compared to Nikon D5100 (16.2MP)
