Alrighty folks, here is how it all fared.

Depending on how you shoot, you can get completely different results. I shot RAW+JPG so I could try it every which way I wanted.

Out of the camera (NEF RAW and JPG) here is what you can expect:

Here is what you get when you convert to a DNG (DNG's only go to 2000K on the white balance, so your result will be a lot more red than your JPG):

Your gonna have fun with IR! I've thought of doing this with my D70 but converting it myself. I currently shoot infrared with a Sony 717 that has an IR filter on it.

I finally took the leap to have my old D50 converted to color Infrared. I took it to Spencer's Camera & Photo (which is about 1 mile from where I live) and it will hopefully be done today. I will post photo's as soon as I get my camera back.
