I read Ken R as sort of his own personal commentary, some of which I agree with and some of which I don't. I look at his photos and generally don't like his work: far too much color and uninteresting subjects. But he is entitle to shoot as he sees the world (in hyper color and ordinary objects looking ordinary). I also am quite sure he slips in a few crazy made up things once in a while, probably for his sense of humor. It's ok. People don't have to love him or hate him. Just let him be himself and ignore him if you don't like his "style."

I have the Nikon D7000 and think it is a really great camera but I do not have the D3, D3s or D3x to compare it to. I am sure they have features it doesn't have but for the price, it seems to be a really great deal.

He is a Nikon Guy - very rarely does he have anything bad to say about them.

Nothing changes our minds faster about a critic than to have him (or her) agree with us for a change...

I take all of Ken's opinions with a grain of salt, but he does have some good stuff to say about general photography.

+1 He has some good comments and ok reviews and sample photos of the items he actually reviews. Many times he does write-ups of items (everything touched or untouched is in the same format) before he gets them in his hands and he makes some predetermined judgements that are absent of some accuracies.

Read his own words on himself:

"This website is my way of giving back to our community. It is a work of fiction, entirely the product of my own imagination. This website is my personal opinion. To use words of Ansel Adams on page 193 of his autobiography, this site is my "aggressive personal opinion," and not a "logical presentation of fact.""

I am NIKON.

Seriously, I actually thought K.R. had a positive opinion about the D7000 from the beginning. I've been peeking at his site since he first posted the review of this camera and it's been good stuff.

As our admin can confirm (assuming he has the right plugins installed), the two IP addresses I use are from nowhere near his Californian home and if he is afloat as he claims, then it's going to be damn hard for me to be him, as I'm about a days drive from the sea...

well, its his opinion, and according to Billy Joel its the only thing we can call our own.

hope I got that right.

I do not always agree with him, but some people take his writing as gospel.

to close, I think you are him BJ, just trying to make people read your blog, pat yourself on the back and just making yourself feel good.

K.R. is nice to Nikon - is the world ending?

I was idly surfing on sites I don't usually regard as Nikon in nature to recover from D5100 launch overload :) and stumbled on into Ken's web site. Expecting a rant that I didn't agree with, yesterday's blog entry happened to be about the D7000.

I'm about to change my view of this very opinionated 'individual'. His praise of the way he can just get back to using his D7000 - just like "that" - matches mine. He was going to shoot his kids and says:

"The fantastic thing is that I grab my D7000, and in one flick, (not three Function Bank Menus), I'm exactly where I need to be to photograph my kids exactly as I want them, exactly coincides with mine and I can't ever remember that."

and

"I continue to be astounded at the new level of performance the D7000 has set for the industry."

He gushes on even more, but I'll spare you the rest :)

I happen to agree with him that the D7000 is the best $1,100-ish camera out there.

The question I ask everyone else is: Does this redeem him any in our eyes?

(and no.. I am NOT Ken using an alias)....
