Helping with the back on topic attempt (wink), Nikon USA marketing seems to mostly be asleep 24x7x365 ... Seeing a Nikon ad (even if it was a stupid one and for DX format cameras) on prime time American TV is newsworthy in itself!

Actually, considering the size of the American market, I think Nikon USA marketing is probably grossly underfunded and having blown 99% of the budget on stupid TV adverts with a star that might appeal to the under 18 year old females out there... I guess if they are the ones that generate most profit for Nikon, then....

We've been here before, have we not?

Trying to get this thread back on topic (sorry Niko), do you have the "I AM" adds in the states or are they only here in the UK? I think they have been very effective here in raising Nikon's brand awareness. I can't remember EVER seeing an add on TV for a Canon camera.

Just seen an advert for the D3100 and D7000 in an ad break on Fox during American Idol.

Its not an advert I can recall from before - with the price rises for Nikon gear they must think its going to bring in enough business to justify the cost of placing the ad... or perhaps they are establishing the model numbers in consumers minds as they prepare the ground for new consumer space SLR models?

(this is a rumors forum after all....)
