Its not going to be as good as using Nikons 200-400 f 4 zoom but its a hell lot cheaper, if you can stop down to f8 the results are quite acceptable

I read that the IQ with both Nikon 70-200mm VR's with the TC-20E III leaves lots to be desired.

I have been considering the combo above. Does anyone know whether the Sigma will be able to AF with the TC20E III? I assume that there will not be any mechanical problems because the rear element on the Sigma is recessed far enough.
