Stay away from Camera Armor. It traps dust and moisture in and isn't worth the money.

I wouldn't go quite that far but you definitely need to take the armor off after each use in moisture or in humid environments. If you are one who plans on selling your camera with every new body release and want to keep it in good condition it would do it's job well. For $40 and you want to protect it - it's not bad.

Good point. I saw some on my brothers D40 and liked the idea as I have dry skin on my hands and so I liked the improved grip level it offered BUT it made accessing the controls harder so I thought *meh* gadget.

It really does improve your grip on the camera! I haven't tried one on my D300 but I did like the feel on the smaller bodies for sure. The 300 and above it might get almost too bulky depending on your hand size.

Well,...I agree that this may be a "gadget",...truth is,..I LOVE GADGETS!

I noticed that Camera Armour discontinued the D3 version. Saw it on Amazon and purchased the last unit. Most likely will have busyer remorse,.but taking a 15 day trip to Italy and this might be nice to put on since I am using a Black Rapid "R" strap.

Everyone have a great day,....going to play in the snow!

I bought one for my D80 when I owned it. Used it... ummm... maybe 10 times in 2 years. It is good if you are hard on your equipment and have a more consumer level camera. If you use a cross body strap like BlackRapid and are walking though the woods It protects it from banging into things. It does add some girth to the body which I liked with a smaller body so if you have larger hands you make like it. I did use it a couple of times in a very windy, snowy and rainy weather. It kept Dirt and snow off but moisture (rain) did get under the rubber which concerned me and I didn't use it after that since I figured it would be better to wipe it off without the grip. The hood was useless.

I was wondering about those too, but also thought they might just be a gadget. So I asked a salesperson at one of my favorite cemera shop and she was of the same opinion, it's nice looking, but a gadget just the same. Just an opinion amongst many mind you.
