No clouds, perfect sky and good some good shoots from my D7000 with a 70-300VR lens.. but following the adviceshere I have a problem: Stacking the photos with registax using the D7000 files crashes. any hint?

We received a nice cloud cover as a bonus ... the downside was that I was on one side of the clouds and the moon on the other.

Looks like the skies will be clearing around 6pm here and will remain so for the night, the moon will be up right before sunset so hopefully it will be possible to get some shots. The added bonus is that the eclipse will start right before the moon rises so it will be right on the horizon and hopefully nice and red :)

It was cloudy and snowing here...didn't even get to see it.

I tried to shoot it with my 18-135mm, it turned out pretty crappy.

The photos are nothing to run upstairs and shout back down about, but it was a fun learning experience and I'll be more prepared and do better next time.

Any further attempts : please don't go over 1/60th of a second, or it will blur out because of the earth/moon movement.

Here in germany sun is already up.. :/, didn't see much but maybe next time.

I was a little unprepared, turns out my tripod and head really aren't great for shooting straight(ish) up, so I lost a lot of stability.

I wound up with a nice set of 'eclipsing' shots, but when I had to go for longer exposures the lack of stability meant there was a lot of blur. Missed out on the color...

And oh yeah, it's effing cold out.

I hope someone got some decent shots to show!

I only have clouds heavy rain and wind. There is no way Im getting a shot you guys need to get some good ones for me=)

Thanks! I'm really excited to see what the eclipse lighting (or lack thereof?) does to the shadows on the moon's surface. Here's hoping it's worth freezing for ;)

This was about 3 hours ago, handheld, f/2.8, 30? second exposure, 200mm DX, trying to see what I would get through the clouds:

And this was about 15 min ago, tripod, f/8, 1/1600th of a second, 200mm DX exposure:

I'm going back out in about 45 min to shoot the actual eclipse, I hope it doesn't change again >.<

If I can see it from my enclosed back porch I will try shooting out the window at it, but I'm not holding my breath. It has been snowing here for about 7 hours.

Probably will go out and try with a D7k, but weather doesn't seem permitting.
