shivaswrath, you're right I barely touched the majority of those 35mm shots! There may have been a slight adjustment to the 'blacks' and the 'clarity' but that's about it. For the ones that are obviously touched up I used some free Lightroom presets I nabbed from somewhere...can't remember which ones off the top of my head but if you're interested I can let you know which ones I used when I'm back at home.

Fritz, I still have my 50mm 1.4 but have to confess that I think it's going to take a bit of a back seat now!

Nikon is sure hard gettin me my PAID for 85 1.4 I ordered 2 and a half months ago. Fritz, any stock of the 85?

Our two favorite NYC superstore(s) will be receiving 100 lenses to fill backorders on Thursday Oct 9...if you've been on waiting list since Aug 15 or a NPS you'll get a chance to get a delivery.... Nice Images on this NR.... l'm looking forward to this new glass to (almost) complete my f/1.4 series. (skipped on the new 50mm)..

Well maybe when I finally get hold of my 85 1.4G, myself, Chris & Broxibear should get together and try just that? The shop I'm waiting for my 85 from has just put the price up to £1380, fortunately for me they have already debited my card with the £1280 they were asking for it last month, so the deal is done! (Perhaps this is why I am still waiting though)? You're first picture is great Chris, if you edited out the rubbish bags on the left, I think you'd have a very saleable image? The light reflecting off the wet cobble stones look fantastic, fortunately rain is not something we lack in the Southeast of England is it :-)

I'm with you spraynpray, £1680 for the f/1.4G or £250 for the 35mm f/2AFD ?...maybe the costs to manufacture justify the price but I don't think the quality justifies the price difference.
I'd love to see a proper test between these lenses, and others like the 85mm and 50mm AFS and AFD's, to see what diferences you can actually see in real terms.
I don't mean 100% crops in extreme corners, I mean a real shoot and swap over the lenses.
There's a suggestion for Nikonrumors first equipment test.

Yeah £1680 isn't too far off the mark...I've seen a lot of discussions about the price of this one but the reality is that, for me, this lens isn't going to leave my side for a very long time and when you break that cost vs time thing down it's almost irrelevant - life is too short :)

Greetings everyone!

Well after weeks of calling around pretty much every photography store in the UK I was finally able to track down the amazing 35mm f1.4G and what can I say...it's worth every little penny!! I'm normally not one to toot my own horn but knowing how few samples there are from this beautiful lens I thought I'd share my meagre offerings with anyone that's interested :)
