Thanks Jonny, that's what I thought! I wished people would be a little less generic on their comments sometimes, so others like us won't spend an hour searching for an option that doesn't exist. :-(

And thanks for the link; that's helpful, too.

Hey, DannyP. The banks are features of D300 series and higher (so the D90 doesn't have it, either). The D7000 has user-defined modes on the mode dial (a first for nikons as far as I know).

Something the D90 and D5000 do have is called My Menu. Here's a place it was discussed:

Hey guys,

Just finished watching this week's D-Town episode, and Matt K. mentions two options under Nikons to save custom setting, for specific kinds of shots (i.e. if you're always shooting sports, and changing your ISO, Quality, etc, you can set it up once and just revert back to it).

He mentioned two ways of doing it: Shooting Menu Bank or Custom Setting Bank. He made it sounds like that was standard is any Nikon dSLR.

I've been looking around in my D5000, however, and I can't find it!

Is that available on the D5000, or is that one of those things only available in the D3s and D90s and so on? Or would there be another way of doing that on the D5000?

I do vary my setting from place to place, but there are a couple I keep reverting back to often, and it'd be great to have a way to save those settings and bring them back quickly and effortlessly.

Thanks as always!!
D.
