I'd contact Nikon UK freedom7 and ask them directly, that's what I did about the SB-700 and they did get back to me...although they could only say "early December".
The UK retailers are still showing pre-orders for the MB-D11, it's expensive at £350 ?
Remember there'a a VAT increase in January so if you're going to buy one get it before then.

Nikon rumors is stating officially today that the MB-D11 will START shipping by mid December! Ouch and you know this will be madness with the Christmas season. Numerous people won't get there's until late winter probably...

I just bought the D7000 and the MB-D11 in Tokyo. While I haven't done scientific tests, the grip does not seem to make the frame rate faster after using it and without it in the same conditions. While the body of the MB-D11 and the small lever that opens the battery compartment feel "plasticy", the rubber portions feel substantial. In fact when holding vertically with the grip attached to the D7000, it feels like your holding a D3/D700/D300.

ugh, i planned to get this grip, but not for 250...anyone know how long it normally takes for grips to go down in price?

My skeptisism comes from the fact that the MB-D10 costs $240, and it "seems" to be a higher end device.

The only reason it should be so expensive is if it also works with the D400 and D800, but this raises a whole load of questions about body size.

I understand that BH is bigger but I never once doubted Adorama. I actually always shop from Adorama over BH.

If they says its 250$, then I believe 'em.

Given that it still is not really "out" its possible that this price is still inflated.

so until it actually ships via the big retailers we won't know the real price.

Now that we know the price do we know the date, because you can order it but it won't ship right away.

250$ for Grip, 60$ for battery.

Also claims 8FPS increase but might be an error carried over from copying info about grip for D300.

Oh my that would be soooo worth the 300$ price tag.

I just bought an 80-200 AF-S so I will be needing this grip!

Also I really loved the MB-D80 because I could run down one battery and when it switched to the other I could charge the dead one without having to turn the camera off.

You don't shoot with big lenses do you? The grip makes a huge difference when shooting with lenses like the 17-35 F2.8, 70-200 f2.8, 80-200 f2.8, 300mm f2.8 and even larger. Vertical grips usually add an extra battery compartment, function lock switch, vertical shutter button and a command dial.

Do you think that there is enough room inside it to stuff a GPS unit in there ? It would sure make sense since geo tagging photos is becoming more popular.
