Yes with NSX Type R on this one. Why not jack up the iso then? Kyoshinikon, I'm with you on this I love that grain look as well. Thats good to know Smarterchild about Alien exposure.

Some P&S from other companies have Film type modes which Nikon could put in the more consumer bodies. For snapshots this could be useful - for good "Art" prints this would be done in post. I do keep a B&W preset on my D300 but that is just for snapshots.

If they did, fine. Either way it would not be a selling point for me. I still would use Nik to emulate any film looks I want in post.

The D80 sensor definably had a sensor that had noise to it. I sold mine and never looked back. It did do B&W well though.

You can always just do it in post. I also don't think Nikon needs to put sepia or black and white mode etc in their cameras. (I don't know if they still do this, I own a D40). It's so simple to do in post.

That's why film and digital aren't really comparable, and the more time that passes the less comparable they will be.

And one of the reasons I shoot both.

I absolutely don't think nikon should add any such option, any more than I think they should add sepia mode or googly eye mode with funny lips; that is to say, not at all.

Do you think that nikon should start adding a piece of firmware that would allow you to simulate film ISO grain? I find that with the clarity of these new (Which are fantastic) ISO's you don't get the same response as film which is why my D80 is still handy.
