Is this the pushpull or with the tripod color? The hood should be really easy to track down for either I thought and yes the pedal design works.

As far as I rememeber it should work. but don't quote me on this.

What I did when i bought my 80-200 af-d lens was go to Adorama and get their compatible lens hood. It's a petal design , much alike to the 70-200's one, but it works and it was like $15 if I remember correctly. they are sturdy and made of tough plastic.

You might as well just give it a try with one of them.

Finally tracked down an 80-200 AF-S for a good price, problem is it's missing the original hood.

Does anyone know if the HB-29 will work? Via some googling I've heard that it will or it will but it won't be snug or it doesn't work at all but it might be some people confusing it with the AF-D version.

I really want to avoid buying one of the "For Nikon HB-17" ones on eBay.

I tried looking on B&H, Adorama and Craigslist and no luck so far.

Does anyone know any other place to look?

I wish you could order it from Nikon!
