Yeah I agree Drab. There are too many which lens should I buy discussions already. People need to make up there own minds base on their needs instead of expecting sudden enlightenment from a post.

I don't understand these sorts of questions.

The 14-24 f/2.8 and 85 f/1.4 are not comparable. They don't do the same thing.

Try this on for size:

I ordered a new shirt 3 weeks ago and I've been waiting and waiting... I found out this guy from Sears ordered his weeks before me. He still hasn't got the shirt yet.

I was going to get new pants for christmas and I thought... How about I wait on the shirt and get that for christmas since it's taking so long to get in and get the pants now to enjoy instead of waiting for clothes which won't get here till Christmas anyways?

I ordered the new 85 1.4 af-s 3 weeks ago and I've been waiting and waiting... I found out this guy from b&h ordered his in august 20th ish and mine sept 20th. He still hasn't got a copy yet.

I was going to get the 14-24 2.8 for christmas and I thought... How about I wait on the 85 and get that for christmas since it's taking so long to get in and get the 14-24 now to enjoy instead of waiting for a lens that won't get here till Christmas anyways?
