I guess only time will tell. I just wonder if the 24MP, which is higher than the Canon's 21 on the MKII, will be any better with high ISO noise than the D700, or will the extra pixels just add to chroma noise like with the MkII?

That's because they are all quoting each other as sources :^)
These specs don't reveal anything new at all. We've been saying the "D800" would have HD video and 24mp since the D3X was rumored and announced. This information is nothing new.

I've also seen 5 other sites, besides that one, and besides this one, that list the same specs, although most are only the basics, and nowhere as complete as this one. Specs match up on all 7 of these sites.

The furthest back comment on the page that even mentions specs is from Sept. 19th.

This page could have been a placeholder for 2 years with people commenting. Back in the April comment section, people are still talking about it being named either the D700s or D800, and wanting a replacement to come out, so I highly doubt any specs were up at that time. Just because the comments were up for a year, doesn't mean they had the specs up that long.

Your own person who runs this site, blogs on the title page that the MP count will be 24, which is what these specs show.

It's FAKE Jump. I'm removing the direct link since it's a commercial site in China and if you read through the comments on that site, those specs have been listed since the beginning of this year and even then people were saying it was just a "fantasy" listing. Even the photo they are using is just the D700 with D800 photoshopped on it. They are just trying to direct traffic to the site.

It's FAKE

Another key stat that these specs are legit is the body weight, listed at 1020g.

D700 - 995g
D800 - 1020g
D3x - 1220g
D3s - 1240g

Fits right in.

I didn't see any release date on that page, unless it's in Japanese. Also, it specifically states the max ISO is 25,600.

I don't believe this is fake in the least. As this Nikon Rumors site has reported, a French guide book for this camera is out on March 9th, 2011, therefore, it is reasonable to assume that specs for this camera are out there, just not publicly released.

Also, don't expect every spec to be 100% accurate until the camera is actually announced. FWIW, Pentax's own USA website got the specs wrong on the first day of the official announcement of their new K-5 camera. Their own site listed the K-5 as having max ISO of 12,800 even though it was later changed to the true max of 51,200. If a camera's own brand name website can mess up on specs, you don't think 3rd party sites can?

FAKE! It's a commercial site and all they did was copy paste specs to drive traffic to their site under the D800 "nickname". No new battery, only one CF card slot, and the same 1005 metering sensor? Yeah right. FAKE!

When I looked at the link, there was nothing that looked like it was fake. A D700 with a 24mp sensor and 1080p. People may have wished for more but it seems like a very reasonable upgrade that will go head to head with the Canon 5DII.

I'm not surprised about the battery, Nikon got allot of photographers to switch with the 700 and at least they didn't force people to upgrade everything.

especially the part about a single flash card space, from D300s to D7000 they all had multislots, do you seriously think that D800 will only have a single CF slot?
