Yes refurbs usually have to go through very strict inspections before being released again so you shouldn't have any worries there I would think. You should probably stick with the US item over the Canadian one if your based in the States. It will save you the headache with the warrenty.

Ultimately I got the USA refurbished from Cameta. Shipping it to Canada for repairs just seems like a greater hassle (and longer times too)

iDunno said:
Well, they say in the description:
`
2 Year Canadian Warranty (Just send it back to us if it needs repair, we'll pay to send it back to you!)

Ah, I know which store you are looking at from that description. Yes they will do that. What we mean is you couldn't just take the camera to a local Nikon dealer in a non-Canadian city for repairs.

I've purchased two refurb cameras from Cameta D90 and D40. I've had absolutely no problems with either one. I would not be afraid of refurbs. Thats just me of course. Cameta is a great company with which to deal.

If you are in the US, the Canadian warranty wont help you. If you are in Canada the US warranty wont help you either, so keep those factors in mind.

Are you in the USA or Canada?

Regardless, I personally wouldn't spend $10 on a non-Nikon brand warranty. Are these significantly more expensive than other options?

I can get a new D90 from Canada for the same price as USA Refurbished, both from ebay.

The refurbished one is from Cameta Camera so included their own 1 year warranty in addition to the Nikon USA refurbished warranty.
The new one is from "prodigital2000" located in Canada, so it has a 2 year Canadian warranty.

Edit: I'm in US.
