There aren't very many Ritz fans here but use resellerratings.com and see what you think. Pre-orders are usually first come first served but sometimes there are so many pre-orders that you might have better luck walking into a retail store and getting the camera sooner. Pre-orders can also sometimes be canceled for no apparent reason by the vendor and you'll have to get back in line. Amazon always seems to send out orders before anyone else. I don't recall Adorama's pre-order history. I think they just recently started to do pre-orders.

Nikon works on allocations, so small stores don't get stomped on by large stores.

Our local store let me put my name on the pre order list for the 85mm f/1.4 AF-S three weeks before it was even announced... and what do you know, I got my lens in my hands before most of the country.

Ive never pre-ordered any camera equipment and am itching to get my hands on a 7000 ASAP :-)

In my case, Amazon charges sales tax so Im looking at Adorama or Ritz.

Any thoughts on which one might be able to deliver quicker?

Im not sure if theres a track record of preferential treatment with the initial stock hand out from Nikon.
