I did post a link to this in the "using a lens with no filter on it" thread. I like it when people justify purchasing expensive filters by showing pics of a shattered filter and saying, "you see it protected my lens from shattering". No you just wasted good money on a "UV" filter that's frail and shatters easily when you could have used your bare lens to hammer in nails!

im surprised how the nikon lens holds up against the nail! i bet some scratches on it, but wow.... i have faith in my nikkors not shattering

Yeah the nail test was a gas. The 18-70mm kit (I'm assuming that is what it was) sure proved to be tougher than the 18-55mm IS.

Trust me. I could kill any camera with a puff of air. It's really not that hard to kill a camera. I did like the hammer and nail with lens!!!

Funny, a lot of abuse to the lenses as well though and some of the cheaper lenses will not hold up I'm sure. Imagine the 50mm 1.8 under these circumstances?

You fast forward too much hearty. They show him re-inserting the batteries after one of the "test". I'm sure they just edited that part out of all of the flame "test".

heh.. funny but he could have killed himself.. The batteries could have exploded in the flame test!

I found that extremely funny for some reason, although more so when the Canon was under fire. I was surprised that they both made it through all those tests.
