Nikon NX is the name of Nikon's software. I think by "silent" camera you mean a rangefinder. Nikon's first camera was a rangefinder and it sold well against Leica. However a rangefinder is NOT the same thing as an EVIL or mirror less camera. Please do a forum search as this topic has been covered many times.

Rich Nikon has already made a camera with a fixed transparent mirror and Sony was rumored to be developing a new camera with such a design. Do a search for "Pellicle" mirror. The main disadvantage is the you get a much dimmer viewfinder image because you don't get the same amount of light reflected upwards.

I am all for a silent camera and I like your suggestions of things that would make it a market leader. How about the possibility that the new cameras are still shaped like a dslr but instead of a mirror it has a smart glass fixed mirror/reflector. I think the mirror could be electrically charged and reflect everything the same as current mirrors do, but when you fire the shutter the charge is switched off and the light passes through it and hits the sensor. Live view could operate as it does now and I don't think it would prevent movie features. Have a look at the Wiki about smart glass:
I'm not sure which of the new glasses would be appropriate, but someone here might know.

This would be the best idea if it optically equals the quality of traditional mirrors. There are many problems with an electrical viewfinder such as eye strain, lag, and loss of subtle tones that many photographers look for...

Reading all the News, Rumors and history I believe Nikon could not stay out the market of the "Mirrorless camera body"
We should not forget the early years of Nikon, they made a similar mirroless camera to compete with Leica. Then DSLR camera was in and it stayed till today.

Time has revers and people want a change and go back to the "Silent" mirrorless camera.
This is the moment with "New Technology and 3" LED screen"

I only hope that Nikon will produce "Advance Technology" to other brands than follow behind other brands.

1. "Full Frame" sensor like the D700, Not the D300!
2. Mechanical/Manual adjustment
3. Hence Improving the light meter comfort; a sensor that could be moved to certain spot on the screen like Ricoh. Fast skin tone adjustment.
4. Screen 3" adjustment for up and lower shots like Sony NEX
5. Direct connection to an iPad/MacBook to view instant shots.
6. Definitely HD quality movie shots
7. 2 Memory Slots
8. Quick start for instant shots
9. Build in Flash & wireless Synchro to other Nikon Flash.
10. Flash shoe, also for GPS
11. WiFi possibility for transfer.
