This thread is quite obviously not about the purchase of Tokina lens, but about posting on old threads, intentional or not. While it appears a response to an old thread was made, even though the age of the posts is listed, this is a problem which I think may need addressing.

Of course, I have not searched this, but, as we have a thread "are you too lazy,.." maybe someone wants to discuss "How old must a thread be to die?" Is there a basis for this? Do some of you think old threads should be closed after a period of time? Give some feedback, either in a PM, or very nicely in this thread who's subject is a bit out of date.

Yes damnit I sent him a pm too he probably thinks I was on drugs or something geez..I don't know why we keep these old threads alive and are not allowed to post new ones if they are moderately similar. :(

Iris Chrome, The very point I was trying to make. The older this site gets the bigger this issue will become.
The lens I posted a link to is an older style lens and I believe that Tonkia only made 1000 of them making it a bit of a collectors item.
I must say, I have no connection with the seller whats so ever, but when you see something like this lens come up on the market and want to share it with others on this site there is no other choice but to open an old thread short of opening a new thread and getting barked at.

LOL. Krevlin's post was more than 2 years ago. I'm sure he's found what he's looking for by now. It's not your fault though... just a side effect of a system where users are forced to revive old threads rather than make new ones specific to the current time and needs.

Krevlin I could literally load you up on websites where I am working in South Korea. The prices are all in won but they have most Tokina lenses current and past for excellent prices new or used. The Korean won is very weak right now so if you are using another currency its even cheaper for you. I still think that South Korea has the best camera district anywhere for consumers except maybe New York or possibly Hong Kong..

Ugh from the Flickr threads I've read about this lens, it's actually quite sharp. It can also be used with a Kenko TC.

I love Tokina however I am having a hard time finding some of their discontinued lenses.

I'm trying to find the Tokina AT-X 340AFII 100-300 F4.

I found one on eBay but it ends in 2 days which is not enough time for me to gather my funds.

There seems to be a lot of the older version with the red band but I'm looking for the newer gold band! Anyone?
