Take a bow Nikon you now have 3 of the top 5 cameras according to DxO! 4 of the top 6 or 6 of the top 10 cameras depending on how you look at it. Pretty impressive I must say! :)

I use DxO optics pro 5 and it gives you most of the same features that Lightroom does although I use both softwares as well as CS4 and Noise Ninja. DxO does a great job with noise control I find and doesn't just remove noise by smoothing over pixels but actually gives a more realistic removing method of drawing samples from the immediate area to copy from as a replacement during the edit. You use your typical sliders that you get in most software for exposure, contrast and saturation etc. Lens distortion correction is good but Lightroom and CS4 have mastered this anyways. DxO Optics Pro 5 and if your lucky 6, can be downloaded for free now so you could give it a shot if you want! :)

Cool. I can't afford fancy software. I'm still working with Photoshop CS2, and the only thing I've really edited was the one photo I posted.

Yes and we always hear about how much better Nikkors are over Canon lenses even their L line. My brother goes on and on about if only he had better glass for his 5D Mark II. He's getting a lot of Zeiss primes now recently. Your right NikoDoby, it must be tough being on top! :)

They make Nikkor adaptors for the EF mount for a reason. :D

NSXType-R have you ever used DxO software? It's fantastic and affordable as well.

Smarterchild, the older lenses like like the 85mm did quite well so maybe a replacement for some other 2.8 lenses might not be in the cards just yet. I think the 85mm will be released with VR soon though as all points seem to indicate..

I guess it's useful if you're looking for a lens purchase, but it doesn't really help me at all.

Same as the rankings for the cameras- it's a lot of fun to rub the results of the Nikon bodies compared to the Canon bodies in Canon fanboys' faces but... it doesn't help me do photography any better.

Not really, I feel like the current lenses will be replaced with the newer current lenses. I believe the 24-70 and the other new 2.8s will do much better.I was surprised more at the 50mms ESP the sigma over the new afs nikon version

Yes that bothered me as well and the fact the 7 available Nikkors were tested on the flagship powerhouse D3X. Its a start though. Maybe DxO will really get into lenses now and use multiple camera bodies. I was amazed at how the 24-120 VR did weren't you smarterchild?

So I guess I am the only one excited about this developement then? :( haha

I love DxO and their software so I was glad they started adding some lenses to their lineup. Very interesting to see what lens gives the best resolution to the D3X body I was curious.

The great folks at DxO now rank a few Nikkor lenses. Keep in mind they are used on the D3X body. The 24-120mm VR does surprisingly well. DxO ranks according to resolution, distortion, vignetting, and T-stop. The 85mm 1.4 D is the highest ranked. Check out:
