if you cant find its website then it might be something homemade; use it if you want but dont lend it to others...

Also get some kind of backup.. you can get a rather cheap notebook these days just for viewing and storage (160G HDD) Will you be shooting video? if you are get several 8GB cards otherwise get several 4GB cards.

I dont think continuous shooting will be a big problem( Unless you go noob crazy with the FPS on the D5000 LOL ! ) its the volume of files that will be an issue on holidays and making sure you have double backed up!. How long is your holiday?

You paid several hundred dollars for a new camera and now you want to put a $10 dollar "no name" battery into it? Get a real Nikon battery for it.

Well I finally did it and bought myself a D5000!
I'm super excited since I'm going on a vacation next week. I have a few questions on accessory and it would be awesome if some of you guys could help me answer them.
First, I was thinking of buying a replacement battery and looked on Amazon. I found this battery:

which has 38 ratings with 4.5 stars. I was wondering if anyone has tried these batteries or has any experience with Nextop batteries.

Which one would you recommend? How do those battery grips work?

Also I need to get a memory card for my camera and I'm thinking of getting the SanDisk Extreme III 8GB (Not the 30MB/s one) for $40. Has anyone tried any other memory cards that haven't lagged when shooting in continuous mode? (I know some will be fast for the first few shots then will significantly slow down, which is not what I want) Will the Sandisk extreme III 8gb is suffice for continuous shooting or should I just get the 30MB/s one?
Also fast will a 4GB card run out?
