Pretty vague question Newfie. As much as I like to bash canon I still own several canon cameras that have served me well. I prefer Nikon for many reasons though, like image quality and ergonomics.

Feature and price point wise, the D5000 would be closest to the Rebel T1i/500D and the T2i/550D, while the D90 is closest to the EOS 50D. The D300s is closest to the EOS 7D. Just for kicks the D3000 is closest to the XS/1000D.

I have a diehard Canon user friend who is looking at a Nikon. Does anyone here know how each Nikon and Canon pair up?
