pete - to be honest, I haven't had too much time lately (You know once You come back from holidays, there's plenty of work to do), and to be honest I haven't seen too much difference in the sky, or at least I don't see any darkness - it's blue as blue can be :D

problem with meteors is that they usually travel at over 10 miles/s.

Just consider the required shutter speed...

Actually if Yellowstone were to erupt that would also be something else

And that's just one volcano. Imagine what happens when we get hit by a huge meteor!

It is unfortunate for the economy, but it makes an excellent photo op.
