Just curious, is there something like this for the NY area? I wouldn't mind picking up some old MF lenses.

they were there again, they showed some pretty incredible 3d pictures. I signed up to get on their mailing list (despite the fact that I have no intention to start making 3d photos, not only because of monetary issues, but because setting up a projector to show the images etc seems like a lot of work too)

hope you do so jonny, that'd be very cool.

ah, so niko was just making a bad joke. Oh well next time I'm in the lone star state I'll hunt him down and shoot him.

Big showing of stereocameras, and they even had a really cool 3d exhibit.

My dad just told me that he's going to get Vegas Pro 10 next year sometime, which is going to have 3D blu-ray export capabilities. My little brother just sold his D80 and 18-70 to buy an NEX-5 (loves it, BTW), and one of these days I'm going to build a 3D video rig using our two NEX-5s. No one in my family owns a 3D TV, but I'm going to try the colored glasses until someone does.

Another feature that may be interesting to any other video aficionados out there: camera shake reduction, which supposedly also works on removing rolling shutter effects.

Niko, whereabouts do you live?

F-mount and Nikkor glass was out in full force NSX, it was hard to stop myself from buying things I really didn't need :)

That being said, I just finished installing the rolleikin! I'm amazed that the tiny old screws on my rolleicord aren't stripped at all. Installing it gave me the opportunity to clean out the camera as well which was nice. Although it seems a bit pointless to be shooting 35 in it, i didn't have any 120 in the room, but we don't have very good lenses on our enlargers for making 120 prints, so it's whatever.

That's very cool!

I'd love to snag an old lens for the FM2, just to get that old manual focus feel lenses in.

Old film is fine for me too, I'm not doing anything professional and I'd probably make a couple mistakes anyway.

Good purchase!

Oh I didn't detail my purchases.

My highlight purchase is that rolleikin II kit. It's clearly never been used (some of the parts are still sealed in plastic) and all the parts are there.

The lenses (one mine, one my girlfriend's) are:
Nikkor 35-70 3.5-4.8 (admittedly not a great lens, but I am a student on a budget and don't have anything in this range...plus it was 25$)
Vivitar 28mm 2.8 (girlfriend got this for her ae-1 20$, she was pleased).

The Alpex flash was off the dollar table and I will admit I mainly got it because it was very cute and has a little leather bag, and I will probably give this to one of my little sisters.

The DeJur was 2$ and was my girlfriend's purchase as well, Should be fun for the summer to fool around with. 18fps slowmotion, as well as the ability to shoot single frames. Hey I have 4 months off for break, I need stuff to play with.

and the film was all slightly expired, but 50 cents a roll.

I don't know if anyone is in the Boston, Massachusetts area, but I went to PHSNE's (Photographic Historical Society of New England's) annual (although they seem to have it twice a year...) event today called Photographica. Tons of small vendors set up selling used (and some new) camera equipment. Lots of medium format and old strange cameras. Big showing of stereocameras, and they even had a really cool 3d exhibit.

Anyway, I don't know if anyone lives in the area, but they have another even in september and it might be a nice meet up. Also the auction is in september, and they have videos of their past auctions and great gear goes for dirt cheap. I actually missed a Primo Jr. today go for $65, in great condition.

Anyway here is a picture of our loot from today, just thought I'd share.

haha, the small "matched" teleconverter at the bottom, I grabbed off the dollar table as I was leaving, figuring well it costs a dollar and is flawless how bad could it be, worst case scenario it's a pentax or minolta mount and I can't use it but I know people that can.

I didn't realize K/AR was naming the mount it was for...konica bayonet mount II, aka extremely specific, and only usable with the autoreflex line, hah. Oh well it'll be a nice 1$ paperweight.
